BLAENAVON WORLD HERITAGE CENTRE

Blaenavon World Heritage Centre is housed in the beautifully restored former St Peter’s Church School. The school was founded in 1816 by Sarah Hopkins Ironmasters to provide free education for children whose parents worked for the Blaenavon Company.

It has a resource room and an interactive display in the main exhibition space which includes touch screens hosting adult and child-friendly programmes to explore information about the World Heritage Site.  A replica Victorian classroom features costumes, writing slates, other learning tools and toys from the 19th century.
