If you are enthusiastic about our stunning landscape then why not join our group to help protect it and inspire others about its features? You’ll meet like-minded people and make a real difference to this internationally recognised area.
The members of the group undertake a variety of tasks relating to the practical conservation and management of both the natural and historical features of the landscape. Examples of regular activities include:
- Habitat management tasks, such as tree planting or removal of unwanted vegetation on the heather moorland around Blaenavon.
- Wildlife monitoring, including surveying for red grouse, which are on the edge of their UK range in the area.
- Maintenance of footpaths and countryside furniture such as stiles and sign-posts.
- Leading guided walks.
- Monitoring and maintaining archaeological sites.
